Credit-by-Certification


Individuals who have passed industry recognized certification exams may qualify for college credit toward the Networking Services Technology A.S./A.A.S. degree, Information Technology Management (Systems Administrator) technical certificate or Information Technology Technician (Desktop Support) technical certificate.

 

College credit is granted for computer certification exams that correspond to college credit courses in Network & Systems Technology programs of study. There is no FCCJ fee for this credit-by-certification. Here are the steps involved in applying.
Note: You must have at least 9credits at FCCJ before you can apply for credit-by-certification.
  1. If you have not done so already, declare your program of study in one of the following Network & Systems Technology programs of study: 2145, A145, 2146, A146, 2147, A147, 226B, 6145, or 6146. You can do this through Enrollment Services on any campus.
  2. Take and pass the corresponding certification exam(s) at a certification testing center.
  3. Bring either the original certification certificate or the official exam results you received from the testing center to room F-200 at South campus FCCJ. F-200 is just above the security office.
